Bearings Engineer

As a Bearings Engineer at Senvion, you will play a vital role in supporting the overall New Product qualification and development activities related to Wind Turbine Rotor bearing, Pitch & Yaw bearings. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to coordinate the entire qualification development process, from requirement analysis to prototype development and validation, ensuring timely and comprehensive completion of tasks. Your key responsibilities will include designing Mechanical Components for multi megawatt wind turbines, providing support on lifting, assembly, installation, service, and maintenance. You will also be involved in the design review of technical specifications and drawings of bearings, comparing designs from different vendors, formulating project plans, controlling certification documentation, and resolving queries. Effective communication with all teams regarding program progress, risks, and milestones is crucial to the success of the projects. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring that Vendors meet certification and design documentation requirements, as well as product reliability through Prototype testing at the supplier end. Your role will also involve the development and adaptation of designs to address Non-Conformances from assembly and installation, close collaboration with other development departments, supporting prototype tests, and serialization of gearboxes. Additionally, you will be tasked with generating cost-saving ideas and implementing them in the design process, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System processes, conducting prototype components field evaluations at the site, troubleshooting technical problems, guiding Field Engineers in technical aspects, and conducting SCADA data evaluation and Root Cause Analysis of field failures through turbine data. To be successful in this role, you should possess 10-12+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in bearing calculation and analysis, experience in GD&T and Tolerance stack-up analysis, knowledge of the manufacturing process of Casting/Forging/Machining, proficiency in FEA using Ansys Workbench, experience in CAD software such as SolidWorks, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.,
