Description
As a Backend Software Engineer at our Gurugram location in India, you will play a crucial role in driving the delivery of team goals and defining technical strategies across multiple teams. You will take ownership of designing, architecting, developing, ensuring quality, and deploying production environments for systems that have a lasting impact. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing robust, scalable backend solutions that address both technical and business challenges. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work effectively with cross-functional teams such as Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams to drive synergies and alignment. You will be required to navigate trade-offs in solving novel problems, considering both technical and business implications. Additionally, you will represent your team in design reviews, sign off on critical designs, and contribute to group-wide architectural decisions. Proactively seeking opportunities to address group-level challenges and setting a path for scalable and innovative solutions will be part of your responsibilities. You will also share ownership in validating group quality and delivery standards, contributing to the mentorship and professional growth of the group's engineers. Actively participating in mentoring and onboarding engineers, as well as contributing to the hiring process, will also be expected from you. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 7 years of experience in backend software engineering roles, with a strong background in technical leadership and strategy development across teams. Expertise in C# is a must, along with advanced SQL skills and experience with database management systems. Hands-on experience with message queues or streaming platforms like RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka is required, as well as knowledge of non-relational databases such as MongoDB. Practical experience with Agile development methodologies, in-depth understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms, proficiency in microservices architecture, and building scalable systems are essential for this role. You should also have a proven ability to solve novel and complex problems, particularly in scenarios requiring architectural innovation. Experience in influencing other teams, collaborating on cross-group initiatives, and mentoring engineers is highly valued. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (BE/BTech/BSc) is required for this position. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud would be a great advantage.
