Backend Engineering Lead

As a Backend Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and scaling enterprise-grade backend systems using your deep expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading the development of scalable backend systems using Spring Boot and Java - Designing and implementing RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture - Ensuring robust API security, authentication, rate-limiting, and versioning - Implementing containerized services using Docker, deploying and orchestrating with Kubernetes - Collaborating with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure CI/CD, monitoring, and high availability - Optimizing backend performance, latency, and reliability - Guiding and mentoring backend engineers, enforcing code quality and design standards - Working closely with frontend, product, and QA teams for full lifecycle delivery To qualify for this role, you should have: - 8+ years of experience in backend development - Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices - Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP - Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) - Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) - Solid understanding of asynchronous messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus - Strong problem-solving, design thinking, and leadership skills - Good understanding of Code Quality and Standards Nice to have skills include exposure to API gateways, rate-limiting, and OpenAPI/Swagger, experience with caching strategies (Redis, Hazelcast), and knowledge of observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
