In this role at Dharmakit Networks for Project Ax1, you will be a Backend Engineer responsible for building the backend infrastructure for the next-gen Large Language Model (LLM) systems. You will collaborate with researchers, infra engineers, and product minds to develop scalable services that incorporate real AI into products with a focus on security and reliability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI. - Create data pipelines, orchestration logic, and deployment-ready backends for AI & ML workflows. - Construct infrastructure for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and real-time AI agent serving. - Manage structured/unstructured data to optimize performance and cost. - Ensure adherence to best coding practices by writing modular code, implementing unit tests, and conducting code reviews. - Establish and maintain CI/CD workflows while enforcing clean, modular coding standards and version control systems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI researchers, infra leads, and product engineers. - Contribute to architectural decisions that will shape the future of India's AI infrastructure. **Must-Have Skills And Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Strong experience with Python and frameworks like FastAPI / Flask / Django. - Excellent understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture. - Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. - Familiarity with Git, Docker, and Linux environments. - Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques, workflows, and AI deployment. - Prior exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and building AI-driven search or retrieval systems. - Bonus: Knowledge of cloud services (AWS/GCP), CI/CD tools, and open-source contributions. - Strong analytical and debugging skills. - Ownership mentality, fast-paced approach, and focus on building lasting solutions. - Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. **Good To Have:** - Experience in backend development using Python frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django. - Understanding of cloud concepts and services (AWS, GCP, Azure). - Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes). - Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. **Open Source:** Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio showcasing backend development.
