Job Summary:

Industrial IT Solutions Pvt Ltd. is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Backend Costing Engineer to

play a crucial role in optimizing the cost-effectiveness of our automation solutions. You will be responsible for

developing, implementing, and maintaining robust costing models and systems within our backend

infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation

technologies, and financial principles to accurately analyze and report on project and product costs. You will

collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to drive cost efficiencies and improve

profitability.

Responsibilities:

Develop and Maintain Costing Models: Design, implement, and maintain detailed costing models for

automation projects, products, and services, considering factors such as materials, labor, overhead, software,

and integration costs.

Backend System Integration: Integrate costing models and data with backend systems, including ERP,

PLM, and other relevant databases, ensuring data accuracy and seamless flow of information.

Cost Analysis and Reporting: Conduct thorough cost analysis of ongoing and completed projects,

identify cost drivers, variances, and opportunities for optimization. Prepare regular and ad-hoc cost reports for

management.

Value Engineering: Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement value engineering

initiatives to reduce costs without compromising quality or functionality. Supplier Cost Analysis: Evaluate supplier quotes and cost structures to ensure competitive pricing and

identify potential cost savings in procured components and services.

Standard Costing: Establish and maintain standard costs for products and services, analyzing

deviations and recommending adjustments.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to costing processes and

methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, sales,

and finance teams to ensure alignment on costing assumptions and objectives.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of costing models, processes, and analyses.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and internal cost control policies.

Qualifications:

B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.

6 to 8 years of experience in cost engineering, cost analysis, preferably within the automation,

manufacturing, or capital equipment industries.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation technologies (e.g., robotics, PLCs,

sensors), and their associated costs.

Proficiency in developing and manipulating complex costing models using spreadsheet software (e.g.,

Microsoft Excel) and database tools.

Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and

activity-based costing.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present cost-related information

clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
