Azure Data Architect

bout the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and migration of data

resources from an existing Azure tenant to the customers Azure environment. The role requires

deep expertise in Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Arcenabled data services. You will be instrumental in architecting robust, scalable, and secure data

platforms, ensuring seamless data integration and efficient resource management across tenant

boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the data architecture and migration strategy to transition resources from the

existing Azure tenant to the customer’s Azure environment.

• Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines and architectures using Azure

Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and related services.

• Utilize Azure Arc-enabled data services to manage, govern, and secure hybrid and

multicloud data environments.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure compliance,

governance, and security best practices are followed.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance on data modeling, integration, and

performance optimization.

• Support the development of data governance frameworks and metadata management

practices.

• Understand how resources are structured in Ametros’ environment
• Design and execute a secure cross-tenant migration
• Rebuild or refactor pipelines, policies, access controls, and integrations
• Ensure data integrity and minimal downtime
• Document architecture, data flows, migration plans, and operational procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data architecture issues as they arise during migration and postmigration.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Data Architect in Azure environments.
• Expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics – including dedicated and serverless pools,

pipelines, and integration runtime.

• Strong proficiency with Azure Databricks – including notebooks, delta lakes, and ML

integrations.

• Hands-on experience with Azure Arc-enabled data services – especially SQL Managed

Instance, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes-based deployment models.

• Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, identity, and compliance

frameworks.

• Experience with multi-tenant Azure environments, including resource migration and

governance.

• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, cataloging, and related tools (e.g., Purview,

Unity Catalog).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across business and technicalTeam
