Role Overview:

We are seeking a part-time, remote AWS IoT Developer (Freelance)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and manage IoT applications using

  AWS IoT Core

  and

  AWS Greengrass

• Create and manage IoT Things

  ,

  Thing Groups

  ,

  Thing Shadows

  , and

  custom topics

• Implement and manage secure MQTT communication

  and device provisioning
• Define and enforce

  IAM and IoT-specific policies

  for secure device access
• Work with

  TLS certificates

  , device provisioning, and secure connectivity for IoT devices
• Troubleshoot connectivity and shadow synchronization issues
• Deploy and test code on

  Ubuntu/Linux-based edge devices

• Collaborate with the team to integrate IoT data into backend systems and dashboards
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and ongoing system improvements

Qualifications:

• Minimum

  2 years of hands-on experience

  with

  AWS IoT Core

  and

  AWS Greengrass (v2 preferred)

• Strong understanding of MQTT

  ,

  TLS

  , and

  device communication protocols

• Proficient in defining and managing AWS IoT Policies

  and

  Thing Shadows

• Experience working with Ubuntu/Linux systems

  for deployment and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with

  AWS CLI

  ,

  CloudWatch

  ,

  IoT Rules

  , and

  Lambda integrations

• Self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently

• Prior experience with secure provisioning (e.g., Just-In-Time Registration or Claim Certificates) is a plus

• Availability for part-time, freelance remote work

  (10–20 hours/week)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with

  Amazon Kinesis Firehose

  for streaming IoT data
• Familiarity with

  time-series databases

  (e.g., InfluxDB, Amazon Timestream, TimescaleDB)
• Exposure to

  data pipeline architectures

  and

  real-time analytics
