AVP Real Estate Investments

As an AVP of Investments at Amherst in Mumbai, India, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the investment strategy and asset management for Amherst's $15 billion real estate portfolio. You will work in a fast-paced, quantitatively driven environment, managing and streamlining high-impact projects and decisions across the portfolio. Leading and overseeing a team of underwriters in India, you will be responsible for acquisitions, underwriting, and ongoing asset management of a portfolio of single-family homes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Gain a full understanding of property underwriting components and act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Investments team in India. - Develop and drive the learning and development program and training for the Investments teams, serving as the SME. - Support recruiting efforts for the Investments team based in India. - Improve productivity, ensuring high-quality services are delivered out of India to support Amherst's Investment activities. - Implement quality control protocols and procedures to ensure high productivity and quality work product. - Drive process improvement and automation for Investments team workflows. - Use data and tools to transform business processes, identify trends, find root causes for challenges, develop solutions, and ensure timely execution. - Collaborate with US managers and teams to evaluate existing processes, drive efficiency opportunities, and incentivize performance improvements. - Convey innovative ideas, question the status quo, and achieve a return on investment. - Monitor and communicate performance on key metrics to stakeholders. - Provide communication, documentation, and project plans around new workflows to be transitioned to India. **Qualifications Required:** - MBA from a tier 1 college with a global financial market understanding; CFA certification is a plus. - 10+ years of relevant experience in underwriting, asset management, or other real estate disciplines. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SQL and Python is a plus. - Strong academic background with a focus on finance, real estate, accounting, or math preferred. - Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external professionals. - Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well in a high-intensity environment to complete tasks quickly and effectively. - Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while delivering a high-quality product under tight time constraints. - Desire to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced team environment. **Additional Details:** Amherst is revolutionizing the U.S. real estate market through data, analytics, and technology to unlock opportunities for all market participants.
