Job Title: Aviation English Language Trainer

Location: URBX Pilot and Aviation Academy LLP

Department: Aviation Academy LLP

Reports To: Head of Department

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Aviation English Language Trainer to design and deliver English language training tailored for aviation professionals. The trainer will focus on improving both general and aviation-specific English proficiency, with an emphasis on ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Aviation English training sessions aligned with ICAO Level 4+ requirements.
  • Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessments based on learner needs.
  • Prepare students for ICAO English proficiency tests, including speaking and listening components.
  • Conduct placement tests, progress assessments, and provide learner feedback.
  • Integrate real-world aviation communication scenarios into training (e.g., R/T phraseology, emergency communications).
  • Maintain accurate training records and assist in reporting learner progress.
  • Work closely with subject-matter experts, flight instructors, and other trainers to align language training with operational needs.
  • Stay updated on changes in ICAO and aviation language training standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Computer-Based Training (CBT) and e-learning content if needed. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Recognized TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification.
  • Experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), preferably in a technical or aviation-related context.
  • Familiarity with ICAO Language Proficiency Rating Scale and relevant aviation communication protocols.
  • Experience working with pilots, ATC personnel, or aviation students is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of standard aviation phraseology and radiotelephony communication.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • ICAO Language Proficiency Rater or Trainer certification.
  • Aviation background or pilot/ATC license
  • Knowledge of international aviation standards and terminology.
