Automation Engineer - SCADA, PLC & Instrumentation

As an Automation Engineer specializing in SCADA, PLC & Instrumentation, your role will involve designing, configuring, and implementing automation systems for water treatment engineering projects. Your key responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with project teams to develop automation solutions aligned with project specifications and client requirements. - Programming, testing, and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance. - Performing internal SFAT on all programs and developing control strategies and automation architectures. - Conducting on-site commissioning of PLC systems with electrical commissioning engineers and implementing code changes under change control. - Providing technical advice and support to process engineers and other engineering disciplines on automation-related issues. - Operating according to SOPs developed for site engineering and maintenance and generating documentation and SOPs associated with each automation system as required. - Supporting the tendering department on Automation projects by specifying hardware, programming time, etc. Qualifications and Experience required for this role: - BEng in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in electrical, mechanical, electronic, automation, or chemical discipline. - Minimum 6-12 years of industry experience, preferably in Water, STP, Wastewater, or related industry. - Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and vision systems in an operating environment. - Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems. - Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements for automation systems. - Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
