Job Description

As an Automation Engineer specializing in SCADA, PLC, and Instrumentation, your role will involve designing, configuring, and implementing automation systems for water treatment engineering projects. Your key responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with project teams to develop automation solutions aligned with project specifications and client requirements. - Programming, testing, and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance. - Conducting on-site commissioning of PLC systems with electrical commissioning engineers. - Providing technical advice and support on automation-related issues to process engineers and other engineering disciplines. - Developing control strategies, automation architectures, and ensuring system integration with other project components. - Implementing code changes on automation systems under change control. - Generating documentation and SOPs associated with each automation system as required. - Supporting the tendering department on automation projects by specifying hardware, programming time, etc. - Managing the specification, development, installation, and validation of automation projects within budget and corporate guidelines. The qualifications and experience required for this role are: - BEng in Engineering or equivalent, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, electronic, automation, or chemical discipline. - Minimum of 6-12 years of industry experience, preferably in Water, STP, Wastewater, or related industries. - Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and vision systems in an operating environment. - Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems. - Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements for automation systems. - Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
