Role Overview: As a CAD Automation Engineer based in Hyderabad, you will report to the Manager, Project Engineering and be a part of the Project Engineering Team. Your main responsibility will be to develop, maintain, and enhance custom AutoCAD tools and scripts to automate routine drafting tasks, standardize drawing templates, and support data-driven drawing generation. You will work closely with Mechanical and Civil Engineering teams to integrate intelligent automation into project deliverables, streamline CAD operations, and reduce manual drafting time. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and enhance custom AutoCAD tools and scripts using Auto LISP, VBA, and/or .NET (C#/VB.NET). - Automate routine drafting tasks, standardize drawing templates, and support data-driven drawing generation. - Collaborate with Mechanical and Civil Engineering teams to understand project workflows and identify automation opportunities. - Integrate AutoCAD automation with external data sources such as Excel, databases, or Tracker design tools. - Support the deployment and documentation of AutoCAD automation tools across global teams. - Work with QA and end users to validate output quality and iterate enhancements. - Provide training or onboarding sessions to team members on tool usage and best practices. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or a related technical field. - 3+ years of experience in AutoCAD customization or CAD automation. - Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Mechanical or Civil, including both 2D and 3D drafting/modelling. - Proficiency in Auto LISP, VBA, .NET API for AutoCAD, or Python scripting with AutoCAD I/O. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and documentation skills.
