Job Overview:

An AutoCAD Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, plans, and blueprints using AutoCAD software. These drawings are essential for the construction, manufacturing, or design industries and ensure that all aspects of a project are accurately represented before construction or production begins. The draftsman must collaborate with engineers, architects, and designers to convert ideas into accurate and workable technical plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare Technical Drawings:
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD software based on sketches, specifications, and instructions from engineers, architects, or designers.
• Develop and modify existing drawings to reflect changes in design or specifications.
• Collaborate with Design and Engineering Teams:
• Work closely with project engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure design plans meet project requirements and regulations.
• Communicate design specifications and modifications effectively to ensure alignment across teams.
• Document Management:
• Maintain and organize all drawings, ensuring they are up-to-date and stored properly for future reference or revision.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including reports and specifications.
• Adherence to Standards:
• Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain consistency in design and drafting processes across multiple projects.
• Revise and Update Drawings:
• Revise drafts and drawings as per feedback from senior engineers or architects.
• Ensure that all modifications are accurately reflected in updated drawings and documentation.
• Quality Assurance:
• Check and review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure that all drafts are error-free and comply with project requirements.
• Project Support:
• Assist project teams by providing technical drawings that support construction or manufacturing processes.
• Support the project’s coordination by tracking progress and ensuring design integrity.
• Site Visits (Optional):
• Occasionally visit construction sites to observe progress and ensure that the designs are being followed correctly.
• Make any necessary changes to the drawings based on site observations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education:
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 2+ years of experience working as an AutoCAD Draftsman or in a similar drafting position.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in AutoCAD software (AutoCAD 2D, 3D, and/or Civil 3D).
• Understanding of engineering and architectural drawings.
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards, materials, and building codes.
• Soft Skills:
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to solve problems and resolve technical issues.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
• Autodesk Certified Professional in AutoCAD.
• Certification in Drafting or related fields.

Working Conditions:

• Location: Office-based, with occasional site visits.
• Schedule: Typically full-time, Monday to Saturday, with possible overtime during project deadlines.
• Work Environment: Mostly computer-based work in an office environment, with some fieldwork depending on the project.

Career Growth:

An AutoCAD Draftsman has opportunities to advance into positions such as Senior Draftsman, Design Manager, or Project Manager, and can also transition into specialized roles like 3D Modeling, BIM (Building Information Modeling), or CAD management.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
