Audit Manager- Environment

Key Responsibilities

Audit Management

• Develop and implement the annual environmental audit plan based on regulatory requirements, operational risks, and organizational objectives.
• Lead and conduct environmental audits across company operations, including site inspections, document reviews, and interviews with personnel.
• Ensure audits address compliance with local, regional, and national environmental regulations (e.g., waste, water, air emissions, hazardous materials).
• Coordinate and manage external regulatory audits and certification assessments (ISO 14001, sustainability audits, etc.).

Compliance & Risk Assessment

• Monitor and interpret current and emerging environmental regulations and standards; advise leadership on compliance implications.
• Identify environmental risks, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans; track the closure of audit findings.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare audit reports, compliance summaries, and risk assessments for leadership and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain accurate, organized audit records and ensure timely submission of required environmental reports.

Training & Stakeholder Engagement

• Provide guidance and training to site teams on environmental compliance, audit readiness, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Facilities, EHS, and Sustainability.
• Support the development of environmental policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Program Improvement

• Evaluate and improve audit methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Support environmental performance metrics, sustainability initiatives, and ESG reporting as required.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Experience

• 57+ years of experience in environmental compliance, auditing, or EHS management.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations (air, water, waste, chemical management).
• Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems or similar frameworks.
