Job Description

As an Assurance Practice Lead at Barclays, you will be a key player in the Control Assurance Services team, contributing to innovation and excellence in the digital landscape. Reporting to the Head of Controls Assurance and working closely with the CAS Practices Director, your role will involve leading strategic communication initiatives, ensuring effective governance, oversight, and tracking of the overall book of work, roadmap, budget, and supplier management activities. To excel in this position, you should possess the following skills and experiences: - Exceptional ability to distill complex information into concise messages for different audiences. - Previous experience in Strategic Communications, executive support, or project management. - Proven track record of building strong networks and achieving results through effective relationships. - Capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and uphold high work quality and attention to detail. - Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and change management abilities. - Knowledge of Project Management, Change Management methodologies, and process re-engineering. - Proficiency in synthesizing information from various sources to provide meaningful insights. - Skill in presenting insights to non-technical audiences in a clear and engaging manner. - Experience in stakeholder management, including briefings and presentations. - Analytical mindset and effective issue resolution skills. Furthermore, valued skills may include familiarity with the Financial Services regulatory environment, experience in Data Analytics, understanding of control environments, and expertise in designing communication plans for strategic programs. Your primary role would involve collaborating with the bank to provide independent assurance on control processes and recommend enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal controls framework. Key responsibilities will include: - Working with teams across the bank to uphold a strong control environment through assessments and testing. - Developing test plans to identify internal control weaknesses and mitigate risks. - Communicating key findings to stakeholders and recommending corrective actions. - Establishing a knowledge center to document control assessments and enhance colleagues" skills. As a Vice President, you will be responsible for contributing to strategy, driving change, managing resources, and upholding policies. Leadership duties will involve setting clear expectations for colleagues and nurturing a culture of excellence.
