Job Description

As an Assurance Practice Lead at Barclays, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence in the digital landscape. Reporting to the Head of Controls Assurance (CAS) and collaborating with the CAS Practices Director, you will lead strategic communication initiatives, ensure effective governance, oversight, and tracking of the overall book of work, roadmap, budget, and supplier management activities. To excel in this role, you should possess the following key skills and experiences: - Exceptional ability to distill complex information into concise messages for different audiences. - Previous experience in Strategic Communications, executive support, or project management. - Proven track record in building strong networks and achieving results through effective relationships. - Capacity to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain quality and attention to detail. - Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and change management skills. - Knowledge of Project Management, Change Management methodologies, and process re-engineering. - Proficiency in synthesizing information from various sources to provide meaningful insights. - Skill in presenting insights to non-technical audiences clearly and compellingly. - Experience in stakeholder management, including briefings and presentations. - Analytical mindset and effective issue resolution capabilities. Highly valued skills may include knowledge of Financial Services regulatory environment, experience in Data Analytics, familiarity with control environments, and expertise in designing communication plans for strategic programs. The primary purpose of this role is to collaborate with the bank, providing independent assurance on control processes and recommending enhancements to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal controls framework. Key responsibilities include: - Collaborating across the bank to uphold a robust control environment through assessments and testing. - Developing test plans to identify internal control weaknesses and mitigate risks. - Communicating key findings to stakeholders and proposing corrective actions. - Establishing a knowledge center to document control assessments and enhance colleagues" skills. As a Vice President, you will contribute to strategy, drive change, manage resources, and maintain policies. Leadership responsibilities encompass setting clear expectations for colleagues and fostering an environment of excellence.
