Associate Unix/Linux Systems Administrator

As a Unix Systems Support Technician at our company, you will be responsible for providing technical support for Unix Operating Systems (OS) and components to ensure readiness, performance, resources, and security meets the needs of our clients. Your role will involve serving as a technical resource for systems design, installation, configuration, and client provisioning, as well as monitoring daily operations and providing maintenance and remediation of system issues. Key Responsibilities: - Perform daily system monitoring, reviewing system and application logs, job status, and report findings to more experienced peers for evaluation - Assist in providing initial (level one) technical support for internal/external customer requests including forgotten passwords, account set up, and access - Assist in maintaining basic Unix infrastructure environment, server equipment, firmware, and installing basic Operating System (OS) patches and upgrades - Help in maintaining performance tuning, reporting and identifying performance trends, and capacity planning - Aid in deploying the change control process for planning and implementing system changes - Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity tasks in a Unix environment, including routine backup and recovery for data protection Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer or other similar technical concentration; relevant experience and/or training in lieu of education - Experience with Redhat Linux systems administration In addition to the technical responsibilities, you may also interact with client service representatives, work with various team members across business units, and provide basic technical support to team members. You will be expected to provide supporting documentation and attend status calls when requested. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree in Computer or other similar technical concentration; relevant experience and/or training in lieu of education - Minimum 2 Years Relevant Experience - Experience with Ansible, Redhat Linux administration - Redhat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and Ansible certification As you grow in this role, you will learn to use professional concepts, apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues, work on problems of limited scope, and follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
