Job Description

Role Overview: As an Associate Tax Research Analyst at Ryan, you will work collaboratively with a team to conduct multistate sales and use tax research. Your role will involve making taxability determinations, formulating opinions on tax implications of complex transactions, analyzing tax changes, and maintaining a knowledge base of current taxability issues. Key Responsibilities: - Research changes in state, county, and municipal product taxability and rates, and analyze the impact of these changes. - Collect data using internal tools and input it into the master repository. - Communicate with state and local tax agencies, clients, and other stakeholders through written and verbal channels. - Utilize various sources including legal online databases and the internet for research purposes. - Monitor state websites for updates on sales and use taxes, special tax rates such as food and beverage taxes, motor vehicle taxes, and prescription drugs. - Work with databases, data entry forms, and queries to support tax research review processes. - Collaborate with development resources and product management to enhance internal tools and ensure accurate implementation of tax data. - Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance, with a legal background being a plus. - 0-2 years of relevant experience. - Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. - Advanced proficiency in internet and research software. - Strong command of the English language (verbal and written).
