Job Description

Responsibilities

Conceive and implement technology solutions that meet business needs and align with the IT strategy
Collaborate with colleagues, analysts, developers, project and program managers, and other stakeholders within an Agile methodology
Assess and quantify risks associated with design decisions
Provide visibility of architecture and design components to appropriate technical governance bodies
Translate business requirements into viable and feasible solutions architectures within budget and timeline
Identify and advocate for the best solutions for stakeholders
Evaluate and recommend external products and services as part of solution delivery
Translate application requirements into component and interface specifications
Ensuring deliverables align with the agreed architecture and quality standards
Deliver prototypes associated with design proposals

Skills

Proven experience delivering complex, high-performing, redundant, and quality software systems
Strong technical background with a track record of driving architectural vision and strategy
Experience in Agile and XP practices
Proficiency in steering projects through the application lifecycle
Collaboration with business stakeholders, including Product Owners and Business Analysts
Understanding of non-functional requirements, quality assurance, and continuous improvement methods
5+ years of experience in an architectural function and at least ten years of development experience
Hands-on development skills with a deep understanding of APIs, security, scaling, and other associated nuances
Strong architectural documentation skills, including visual aids
Experience with build versus buy analysis and vendor product selection
Knowledge of modern architecture components/designs, such as AngularJS, Microservices, NoSQL, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Strong messaging experience
Familiarity with the payments industry
Excellent communication, influencing, and detail-oriented capabilities.
Passion for architecture and ability to drive change and manage results.
