About the Role:

Associate Director – Delivery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy

    • Drive end-to-end delivery for Medical Coding and CDI operations across multiple clients/projects.
    • Develop and implement operational strategies to meet business goals, SLAs, and compliance standards.
    • Partner with senior leadership and clients to identify process improvement opportunities and business growth initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence

    • Oversee daily operations, resource allocation, and productivity metrics for coding and CDI teams.
    • Ensure adherence to industry regulations (AAPC, AHIMA, HIPAA) and internal quality standards.
    • Monitor accuracy, turnaround time (TAT), and audit performance to maintain excellence.
  • Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)

    • Lead CDI initiatives to enhance the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation.
    • Collaborate with physicians, coding, and quality teams to improve case mix index (CMI) and risk adjustment outcomes.
    • Drive training and upskilling programs for CDI specialists.
  • Medical Coding Operations

    • Oversee multi-specialty coding delivery teams (IP/OP/ED/Profee, etc.).
    • Manage client relationships and ensure timely delivery of accurate coding services.
    • Stay updated on payer guidelines, coding standards (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS), and audit requirements.
  • People Management

    • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams; drive engagement and retention.
    • Partner with HR for workforce planning, training, and performance management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, or related medical field (Master’s preferred).
  • 12–18 years of experience in

    Medical Coding Operations

    , with at least 3–5 years in a

    leadership role managing CDI teams

    .
  • Mandatory:

    Hands-on experience in

    Medical Coding Operations

    and

    Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)

    .
  • Certifications such as

    CPC, CCS, CCDS, or CDIP

    preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare delivery models, coding regulations, and quality compliance frameworks.
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and driving process transformation.
  • Excellent communication, client management, and analytical skills.
