R

esponsibilities C

ore Functions P

  • repare feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements in the agreed format and review with the Local CRC Head of MEP W
  • ork with WSP UK Team to assemble a design specification compliant with the employers’ requirements, agree its format and content, and monitor and review its preparation ensuring delivery by the due date A
  • gree and monitor scope of works with the Local CRC Head of MEP C
  • learly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local CRC Head of MEP and WSP UK Team to allow detailed design C
  • arry out detailed design to WSP , UK Building Regulations and relevant Code of Practice and standards ensuring Construction Design and Management (CDM), QA and technical review and sign off by the Local CRC Head of MEP, including complex calculations and co-ordination issues R
  • eview and monitor the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign off E
  • nsure that information for project costing preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP UK Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions P
  • rovide documentary information via the WSP UK Team to assist in the preparation of tender documents, ensuring that information for tender preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP UK Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions C
  • o-ordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and reviews input from team members D
  • eal with the day to day queries from the WSP UK Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity R
  • eport to the WSP UK Team in association with the Local CRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent P
  • roject manage commissions from the WSP UK Team, using applicable project management tools L
  • ead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme. F
  • ollow in full the document control, archiving CDM and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued, and filed in an appropriate manner, coach junior staff in their usage T

  • aise the level of technical competence within the teams I
  • mplement delivery and quality measurement processes P
  • romote technical excellence in all our projects U
  • ndertake technical reviews, checks and contribute to the concept design P
  • rovide continuous feedback to the Local Head of CRC on the effectiveness of the protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvement D
  • evelop positive professional relationship with the WSP UK Team, communicating openly about project progress P
  • articipate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP I
  • dentify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processes M
  • anage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leader I
  • dentify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEP C
  • omplete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines A
  • ssist in elements of financial management D
  • eputise for team leader K

  • rogress in HVAC and Clean Room Concept Design Improves Area, Pressure and Classification zoning. C
  • onfirms the design and Concept with QA for regulatory requirements 4. P
  • reparation of IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets schematics and P&ID S
  • hould possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE E
  • xcellent working knowledge of ISHRAE, ASHRAE and good working knowledge of UK codes would be advantageous. P
  • repare heat load calculations C
  • arryout preparation of Technical submittals of various materials, equipment’s etc., K
  • nowledge of software like AutoCAD, MEP & other drafting soft wares C
  • arry out detailed design, calculations & drawings. C
  • arry out regular design reviews U
  • nderstand the specifications and tender conditions accordingly design. R
  • eceive, analyse and evaluate quotations suiting our requirements. I
  • mplement cost effective measures for reducing project cost. P
  • reparation & Maintenance of design files and documents. C
  • apable of discussing with the clients/ consultants/ other agencies to carry out the design activities K
  • nowledge about other services like electrical, PHE etc. to carryout design co-ordination G

  • Eng (Hon) degree with minimum 10 years post graduate experience M
  • ember of Professional body associated with discipline C
  • .Eng preferred although not essential E
  • xperience and proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team and multi-disciplinary projects E
  • xperience of Microsoft Office C
  • omprehensive experience of technical design and associated discipline software
