Overview

The Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in English Department is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in English, conducting research in their area of expertise, publishing research findings in academic journals, presenting research at conferences, and participating in service activities for the department, university, and profession.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in English, which may include composition, literature, creative writing, linguistics, and other related topics. Develop and update course syllabi, lecture materials, assignments, and assessments that are consistent with program learning outcomes and departmental standards. Engage in research in their area of expertise, produce scholarly works, and present research findings at national and international conferences. Serve as a research advisor and mentor to undergraduate and graduate students. Provide academic advising to students, including course selection, career guidance, and academic support. Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities, such as serving on committees, attending meetings, and participating in professional organizations. Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in English and related fields, and apply this knowledge to course development and research.
