Assistant Purchase Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Assist in developing and implementing purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers/vendors.
  
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure cost efficiency.
  

1. Purchase Order & Vendor Management

• Review and process purchase requisitions and convert them into POs.
  
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
  
• Monitor vendor performance and handle supplier-related issues.
  

1. Inventory & Material Management

• Coordinate with stores/warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  
• Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, consumables, and services.
  
• Track stock movement to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  

1. Cost Control & Budgeting

• Monitor and control procurement budgets.
  
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through effective sourcing and negotiation.
  
• Support in preparing periodic reports on purchase expenditure.
  

1. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and legal requirements.
  
• Maintain proper documentation of contracts, POs, invoices, and supplier details.
  
• Support internal/external audits related to procurement.
  

1. Coordination & Support

• Collaborate with finance, production, and logistics teams for smooth purchase operations.
  
• Provide timely updates to management on procurement status.
  
• Assist in resolving purchase-related disputes or discrepancies.
  

1. Team Support & Development

• Guide junior purchase staff in daily procurement tasks.
  
• Ensure continuous improvement in procurement processes.
