Assistant Professor - Fine Arts

As a Faculty of Fine Arts (Painting) at K. R. Mangalam University, your role involves inspiring and mentoring students in creative exploration, research, and studio practice. You will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Painting, Drawing, and related Fine Arts subjects. Your key responsibilities include: - Developing and delivering innovative curriculum content in traditional and contemporary art practices. - Guiding students in studio work, research projects, and exhibitions. - Conducting practical workshops, live demonstrations, and critiques to enhance artistic skills. - Evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback. - Supervising art exhibitions, student portfolios, and public displays. - Engaging in personal creative practice and contributing to the university's art and cultural initiatives. - Participating in academic planning, departmental meetings, and committee activities. - Contributing to research, publications, and interdisciplinary collaborations. - Staying updated with current trends, technology, and pedagogy in visual arts education. Qualifications required: - Masters Degree in Fine Arts (Painting) from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade). Desirable qualifications include: - Ph.D. in Fine Arts (Painting) or UGC NET qualification. - Proven record of exhibitions, art practice, or publications in reputed forums. - Prior teaching experience at the university or art institution level. Skills and attributes needed for this role: - Strong conceptual and technical understanding of painting techniques (oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, etc.). - Excellent artistic, pedagogical, and communication skills. - Ability to motivate and mentor students in creative research and practice. - Team player with a collaborative and innovative approach. - Familiarity with digital art tools and modern teaching aids is an added advantage.,
