Job Description

  1. Assists the Nursing Head and takes responsibility of the Nursing Department along with the Nursing team.

  2. To be responsible for planning quality nursing care for the patients.

  3. Taking over the report from Nursing Supervisors daily (VIP & Critical patient).

  4. To ensure the correct number of Nursing personnel assigned to achieve the patient care.

  5. To check and perform the evaluation of the Nursing personnel.

  6. To conduct daily rounds in the wards and delegate work accordingly.

  7. To co-ordinate with other departments of the hospital for the smooth functioning.

  8. To assist in recruitment of nursing personnel.

  9. Will be responsible for manpower, materials and maintenance of all equipment's and accurate records of both medical and nursing.

  10. To assist in planning the yearly budget and monthly expenditure of the department.

  11. To evaluate the effectiveness of the staff and their performance half yearly and annually.

  12. To coordinate with the activities of the Staff Nursing Hostel if required.

  13. To conduct weekly meeting with all the Nursing Supervisors and Sister-In-Charges.

  14. To co ordinate with the Nurse Educator in organizing regular In-service education to the nursing staff by the doctors and nursing personnel.

  15. Maintaining the discipline and systems in the department.

  16. To be responsible for assignment and supervision of the nursing students with co-ordination of School and College Principal.

  17. To have daily feedback system on day to day activities.

  18. To assist and co- ordinate in crisis management.

  19. To participate in the hospital activities related to community services.

  20. Responsible for the yearly auditing by the internal auditors and external auditors.

  21. Responsible for maintaining quality standards like ISO, NABH, NECP etc.,

  22. To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives.

  23. To be aware of departments performance and objective.

  24. To carryout data collection/support in data collection.

  25. To adhere the safety norms of hospital and follow both patient safety and staff safety rules.

  26. To participate and conduct the various committee meetings of the organization and department.

  27. To perform any job/ task as and when assigned by the superior.

  28. To ensure all the employees are trained/oriented about the quality systems of the department.
