Job Description

Assistant Nursing Superintendent (ANS)

Key Responsibilities

Nursing Administration & Supervision

Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising nursing services across departments.
Ensure proper staffing, duty allocation, and shift management.
Monitor patient care delivery and nursing standards.

Staff Management

Guide, motivate, and evaluate nursing staff.
Identify training needs and organize workshops/in-service education.
Assist in recruitment, orientation, and appraisal of nursing staff.

Patient Care & Safety

Ensure adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and infection control practices.
Supervise nursing care to maintain high quality and patient satisfaction.
Handle patient complaints and resolve issues related to nursing services.

Quality Assurance & Audit

Maintain nursing records, reports, and statistics.
Participate in quality improvement programs, NABH/JCI accreditation activities.
Conduct ward/departmental rounds to assess nursing care quality.

Coordination

Liaise with doctors, allied health professionals, and administration.
Support emergency and critical care situations.
Assist Nursing Superintendent in policy formulation and implementation.

Inventory & Resource Management

Ensure adequate supply and proper use of drugs, equipment, and consumables.
Monitor budget utilization and reduce wastage.
