Job Purpose

This role will be responsible for supporting business development activities through accurate product costing, technical evaluation of components, and coordination with internal departments. This role requires strong techno-commercial acumen to convert customer requirements into viable business proposals.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Product Costing & Technical Analysis

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for automotive, non-automotive, Fe, non-Fe components (tooling and parts). Processess : Sand & Gravity die castings, HT, machining, surface protection
• Analyze BOM, drawings, specifications, STDs and customer requirements to determine feasibility and cost drivers.
• Coordinate with internal departments for technical data collection and process inputs.
• Perform process costing, machine cost calculations, cycle time estimation, and resource costing.
• Prepare pricing proposals, costing sheets, and commercial offers.

2. Business Development Support

• Support customer enquiries by providing techno-commercial quotations.
• Participate in customer discussions for costing, technical clarifications, and negotiation support.
• Understand customer requirements and map them to internal capabilities.
• Assist in RFQ (Request for Quotation) evaluations and timely submission of competitive offers.
• Track RFQ status, conversions, and follow-up with customers.

3. Commercial Analysis & Reporting

• Conduct competitor price benchmarking and value-engineering cost reduction analysis.
• Present costing summaries and business cases to management.
• Maintain costing database, standard rates, and revision logs.

Skills & Knowledge Required

• Strong knowledge of automotive components, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers.
• Hands-on understanding of foundry, machining, tooling, and quality processes.
• Proficiency in cost modeling, cost breakdown analysis, and commercial terms.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T preferred).
• Good communication, negotiation, and customer-handling skills.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, costing tools, and ERP systems.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Automobile / Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).
• Additional training in costing or commercial management is an added advantage.
