Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager - Purchase

As an Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager in the Purchase department at our Ludhiana location, reporting to the Plant Head, your primary responsibility will be to ensure smooth procurement operations for raw materials and components essential for production. You will work closely with the production planning team to maintain a steady supply chain. Your key duties will include preparing and executing procurement plans within budget constraints, negotiating with vendors to optimize costs, and managing inventory plans to reduce carrying costs. Developing and nurturing strong relationships with suppliers, conducting vendor audits, and ensuring timely supply of materials to various departments will also be crucial aspects of your role. In terms of financial management, you will be responsible for cost optimization, budget adherence, and reduction in inventory and purchase costs. You will also oversee the procurement process, including approving purchase requisitions, contracts, and service agreements, while monitoring vendor performance, adherence to timelines, costs, and quality standards. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to drive efficiency in the procurement process, minimize stock-outs, enhance vendor quality, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, you will play a key role in the learning and development of your team members by facilitating performance appraisals, identifying training needs, and promoting skill development initiatives. To excel in this position, you should hold a degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
