Assistant Manager - T&C: Electrical (Mumbai)

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical site management, testing, and commissioning, preferably in Data Centre or critical infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, backup power systems (UPS, generators), switchgear, and transformers.
• Experience managing large teams and coordinating multiple contractors on-site.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical standards, codes (IEC, NEC), and commissioning procedures.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Role & responsibilities

• Site Management: Support the Electrical Site Manager in coordinating and overseeing electrical testing and commissioning activities at the Data Centre site, ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule and within scope.
• Team Leadership: Supervise a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. Provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure that the team works efficiently and safely to meet project goals.
• Testing & Commissioning Coordination: Oversee and ensure the successful testing and commissioning of all electrical systems, including power distribution units, UPS systems, backup generators, lighting, electrical panels, and other critical electrical infrastructure.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all electrical testing and commissioning activities comply with applicable national/international standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting: Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities are thoroughly documented. Maintain and review testing reports, as-built documentation, and completion certificates. Prepare progress reports for stakeholders and address any discrepancies promptly.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Manage and resolve any electrical issues encountered during testing and commissioning, working with the project team to implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Client and Stakeholder Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project managers, and contractors. Regularly update clients on the status of testing and commissioning activities, address queries, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the commissioning process.
• Safety & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and implement corrective actions when necessary. Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to minimize risks during the electrical commissioning process.
• Project Handover: Coordinate the final handover of the electrical systems to the client. Ensure that all systems are fully operational, thoroughly tested, and meet the client's requirements before handover.
