Job Summary:

The Project Electrical Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing electrical works in construction projects. The role involves supervising site activities, ensuring compliance with standards, coordinating with contractors, reviewing drawings, and carrying out bill checking and verification for all electrical-related works. The engineer will ensure timely project completion with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Review electrical design drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Prepare material submittals, load calculations, and equipment selections.
• Assist in planning project schedules and resource allocation for electrical works.

2. Site Supervision & Quality Control

• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including HT/LT systems, lighting, power distribution, earthing, cabling, panels, and fire alarm systems.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
• Conduct routine site inspections and quality checks.

3. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and other teams to ensure smooth workflow and avoid conflicts.
• Attend project meetings with consultants, clients, and contractors.
• Liaise with vendors for timely supply of materials and equipment.

4. Bill Checking & Verification

• Check and verify contractor bills, measurements, and BOQs.
• Validate quantities, rates, and certification of electrical works completed.
• Ensure documentation accuracy for payment processing.
• Maintain proper billing records and support audits as required.

5. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to BESOM and local electrical codes and standards.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain site documentation.
• Support commissioning, final testing, and handover documentation.

6. Safety & Risk Management

• Enforce electrical safety protocols and ensure safe work practices on site.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide technical guidance to workers and contractors.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering (B.E./B. Tech).
• Diploma holders with strong experience may also be considered.

Experience:

• 6 to 10 years of experience in construction project electrical works supervision.
• Knowledge of electrical systems installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience in bill checking, BOQ verification, and contractor billing is essential.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and basic project management tools.
• Understanding of electrical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
