Assistant Manager - Taxation

Role & responsibilities State Excise Compliance: File monthly State Excise Returns as per applicable regulations. Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all provisions under the State Excise and Prohibition Department. Maintain required documentation and registers to ensure readiness for inspection and audits. Import & Customs Coordination: Generate Goods Receipt Note (GRN) for incoming import shipments. Coordinate with the customs clearance team for the timely clearance of goods. Controlled Substances & Narcotics Compliance: Maintain Daily Registers for Controlled Substances in accordance with NCB guidelines. File Quarterly Returns with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Ensure end-to-end compliance with Narcotics and Controlled Substances Rules. Logistics & Documentation: Generate E-way bills for all incoming and outgoing consignments, including R&D samples. Arrange transport and courier services for the dispatch of R&D and other critical consignments. GST Compliance Support: Prepare necessary statements and documentation required for GST audits and departmental inquiries. Preferred candidate profile Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CMA Inter Experience: 25 years of experience in indirect taxation, excise compliance, or logistics coordination, preferably in the pharma, chemical, or manufacturing sectors. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of GST, Excise Laws, and Controlled Substances Rules Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred) Proficiency in MS Excel and statutory return filing portals Familiarity with e-Way Bill Portal, ICEGATE, and DGFT systems Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and documentation Ability to coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams and external departments Good written and verbal communication skills
