Job Title: Assistant Manager Security

Industry: Retail / Shopping Mall / Commercial Complex

Reporting To: Security Manager / Operations Head

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager Security is responsible for assisting in planning, implementing, and supervising security operations within the shopping mall. The role ensures safety of customers, tenants, staff, and assets while maintaining compliance with statutory and mall security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing day-to-day security operations of the mall.

Supervise security supervisors and guards; ensure proper deployment and shift management.

Monitor access control, CCTV surveillance, parking security, and crowd management.

Ensure safety and security of shoppers, retailers, staff, and mall property.

Handle incidents such as theft, emergencies, fire, medical situations, and law & order issues.

Coordinate with local police, fire department, and emergency services when required.

Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety guidelines, and statutory requirements.

Conduct regular security audits, drills, and inspections.

Maintain incident reports, daily occurrence reports (DOR), and security MIS.

Support tenant coordination for security-related issues.

Assist in training security staff on customer handling, emergency response, and mall protocols.

Ensure proper functioning of security equipment (CCTV, alarms, access control systems).

Support crowd control during events, festivals, and peak hours.

Enforce discipline and grooming standards among security personnel.

• Knowledge of fire & life safety systems.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Customer-centric approach with firm control.
• Basic computer skills for reports and CCTV monitoring.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification:

Graduate in any discipline (preferred).

Certification in security management / fire & safety is an added advantage.

Experience:

47 years of experience in security operations.

Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory role within a shopping mall / large commercial property.

Preferred Background:

Experience in shopping malls, multiplexes, large retail spaces, or commercial complexes.

Ex-servicemen or candidates with strong security training preferred.

Working Conditions:

Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to handle high footfall environments.
