Proto Electrical & Electronics

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the protoshop operations focusing on electrical/electronic systems fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Plan and prioritize prototype builds involving battery systems, wiring harnesses, electric motors, controllers, and EV subsystems.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team including electrical technicians, engineers, fabricators, and assembly operators.
• Ensure quality standards, safety protocols (high-voltage safety), and engineering specifications are strictly followed.
• Collaborate closely with design, validation, and testing teams to translate electrical schematics and design documents into physical prototypes.
• Oversee procurement and inventory of electrical components and materials used in prototyping.
• Drive process improvements to optimize electrical assembly efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance prototype reliability.
• Maintain documentation of electrical build procedures, test results, and modifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for specialized electrical components or test equipment.
• Ensure team training on high-voltage safety, electrical best practices, and prototype assembly techniques.
• Troubleshoot electrical assembly issues and lead root cause investigations.

Key Competency:

• Strong knowledge of EV electrical systems including battery packs, wiring harnesses, high-voltage safety, electric motors, and power electronics.
• Hands-on experience with prototype assembly, wiring, soldering, and testing of electrical systems.
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, and CAN bus analyzers.
• Experience managing teams in workshop or protoshop environments.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to high-voltage systems and electrical manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• Understanding of embedded systems, control units, and software-hardware integration.
