Assistant Manager - Preprocessing, Blending & Shredding

Role & responsibilities

1. Operations -

1) Leads the entire section during the shift.

2) Ensures safe start-up, steady running and shutdown of shredding & blending line;

3) Deploys operators and contract workers;

4) Supervises PCB identification, visual sorting, dismantling where needed (heatsinks, large copper, batteries, CRTs, etc.), and correct feeding of lines;

5) Verifies proper segregation of different PCB & e-waste categories;

6) Coordinates with mechanical & E&I supervisors for breakdowns;

7) Ensures log sheets, production and downtime data are updated;

8) Enforces PPE, lock-out and safe-work practices.

2. Electrical -

1) Responsible for reliability of all electrical and instrumentation systems in the section during the shift.

2) Ensures healthy status of HT/LT distribution, MCCs, DBs, lighting and earthing;

3) Monitors and troubleshoots VFDs for shredders, conveyors and blowers;

4) Ensures field instruments (weigh-bridges, belt scales, metal detectors, temperature / vibration / speed sensors, level switches) are working;

5) supports control-room in maintaining interlocks and safety circuits;

6) Performs routine checks on dust-collector fans and explosion-protection devices;

7) Supports commissioning, loop checks and change-management of PLC logic.

3.Mechanical -

1) Owns mechanical health and availability of all pre-processing equipment in the shift.

2) Leads fitters / technicians and contractor teams;

3) Attends breakdowns and restores equipment safely;

4) Ensures proper alignment, tensioning and tracking of belts;

5) Oversees rotor / knife inspection & change in shredders;

6) Ensures spillage control, guards and chutes are intact;

7) Implements preventive maintenance as per plan;

8) Supports OEMs during commissioning, modifications and major overhauls;

9) Maintains consumption data for wear parts, lubricants and spares.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Operations -

1) Authorised e-waste dismantlers, refurbishers and recyclers 2) Dry-waste Material Recovery Facilities and scrap-sorting facilities

3) Foundry / secondary metal units handling large volumes of scrap

4) Co-processing or solid-waste shredding facilities.

2. Electricals

1) E-waste recyclers with mechanised lines

2) Muncipal Solid Waste, dry-waste, Material Recovery Facilities with conveyors & shredders

3) Cement / steel / mining plants with large material-handling & dust-collection systems

4) Any continuous plant with high density of small motors and VFDs.

3.Mechanical

1) Solid-waste shredding plants

2) Scrap-processing yards with balers and shredders

3) Cement, steel, mining plants with similar equipment

4) Any Indian e-waste dismantling unit that has started mechanisation.
