Assistant Manager - Minituber Production

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Manager for our Minituber Production unit within the Corporate Farming department. This role is pivotal in supporting the production of high-quality minitubers, essential for meeting both domestic and export market standards. You will work closely with senior management to ensure operational efficiency, quality compliance, and continual productivity improvements.

• Develop and manage budgets for multiple locations involved in minituber production, ensuring alignment with overall business plans.


• Oversee the production process of minitubers, adhering strictly to product specifications and quality control standards to maintain excellence.


• Ensure production of export-quality minitubers that fully comply with phytosanitary norms and international regulations.


• Effectively manage labor resources, focusing on optimizing efficiency and improving workforce productivity.


• Design, plan, and execute research experiments aimed at enhancing production yield and operational processes.


• Develop, document, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring strict compliance across all production activities.


• Lead training and development programs for supervisors and workforce to elevate skills, knowledge, and performance.


• Prepare and submit timely Management Information System (MIS) reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, supporting data-driven decision making.


• Promote a culture of safety, ensuring all manpower and product handling processes uphold the highest safety standards.

• A Master s degree or Ph. D. in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Plant Pathology is required.


• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in field or greenhouse production, preferably within seed production systems or protected cultivation sectors such as floriculture.

• Strong knowledge of seed production systems and phytosanitary regulations.


• Proven expertise in labor management and workforce optimization.


• Creative problem-solving skills with a proactive and self-reliant approach to challenges.


• Excellent computer literacy and the ability to use relevant software tools for reporting and data analysis.


• Good mathematical ability for budgeting and operational efficiency analysis.

• Innovative and solution-oriented mindset.


• Dependable and self-driven work ethic.


• Strong communication and leadership capabilities to drive team engagement and development.

This position is based at our Kurukshetra facility. The role requires minimal travel and predominantly involves managing onsite production operations and teams.
