Assistant Manager Mechanical Quality

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Control:

• Develop and implement mechanical QA/QC plans, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and SOPs.
• Monitor material testing and workmanship maintain quality documentation and reports
• Conduct inspections for welding, fabrication, piping, equipment installation, and structural works.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, IS, etc.).

• Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective actions.
• Prepare and review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
• Support audits and client inspections with proper documentation and follow-ups.

• Vendor & Material Quality:

• Inspect incoming mechanical materials and equipment for conformity.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party inspection agencies.
• Ensure traceability and certification of materials used on-site.
• Ensuring approved Quality Assurance Plans.
• Adherence to the Construction methodology, tests, Quality of Material and Quality of work execution, Inspections, NCR management.

• Team Coordination:

• Supervise site QC inspectors and guide them on inspection protocols.
• Collaborate with project, construction, and safety teams to ensure quality integration.
• Train site personnel on quality standards and procedures.

• Compliance & Risk Mitigation:

• Identify quality risks and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, client requirements, and statutory norms.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of mechanical QA/QC practices in industrial construction.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, codes, and standards.
• Hands-on experience with NDT techniques (RT, UT, PT, MT).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ASME Section IX, and other relevant standards.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
