Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with

accounting standards.

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
  • Work with departmental heads to ensure budget adherence.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Manage the reconciliation of accounts.

General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements related to finance and accounts.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records to support all tax filings and compliance

activities.

Audit and Assessments:

  • Assist in both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and

explanations.

  • Handle queries and data requests from auditors.

Taxation:

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.

Team Management:

  • Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks within the finance team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.

System and Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and systems.
  • Participate in the implementation of new financial systems and tools.
  • Develop and document financial policies and procedures.

Job Specification

Qualification:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CA Inter, CMA Inter, MBA) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial regulations, and tax laws.
