Role & responsibilities

Role Summary:

maintenance, troubleshooting, project execution, and commissioning

Key Responsibilities

Handling of Fermentation plant include both Upstream and downstream, Water Plants and Utility.

• To follow the established procedure and policies of the company.
• Responsible for new modifications, process changes based on Plant requirements,
• Review and monitoring of Daily Electrical readings, Monthly Electrical bills, Units consumption trend analysis, Diesel and Renewable energy consumptions,
• Responsible for Electrical Maintenance of utilities (Like ,HT & LT Panels, DG, Boiler, Chillers, Air compressors, Cooling towers, Ammonia skids, Pumps), HVAC (AHU,VAU,EAU,FAU) and Process equipment’s (Fermenters, Centrifuges, Holding vessels, process pumps, MF & UF and Filter press) and ETP Equipment’s.
• Should have the electrical HT license and Responsible for the Maintenance of all electrical activities in the plant.
• To maintain minimum breakdown time and ensure the maximum availability of Equipment for production usage.
• Responsible to co-ordinate, monitor & witness new equipment’s along with equipment qualification.
• Responsible for process optimization and modification related to the electrical loads,
• Handling deviation, investigation, CAPA and change control.
• Preparation and review of Standard operating procedure, safety, cGMP and EHS requirements
• Co-ordination for audits (internal and external) related to Engineering and QMS.
• Co-ordination with vendors for AMC, CMC, and breakdown follow-ups ,PR Creation ,PO follow ups with SCM .
• To ensure data integrity related issues by self and with the team members.
• Decision making on priorities and ensuring the MTTR and MTBF for all equipment’s.
• Ensure all equipment are maintained as per OEM recommendations.
• Review of Logbooks and shift scheduling, Manpower planning, reporting & Shift operation.
• Planning of work sequence at site by coordinating with all service during execution.
• To make risk assessment and mitigation plans to avoid/face the critical equipment breakdown situations.
• To handle new project activities including BOQ, Technical Drawings and assessment of new equipment, FAT, SAT, erection, installation, commissioning, and qualification.
• Review of EHS activities and responsibility for zero incidents.
• Review and Maintenance of water and effluent treatment process (ETP).
• Ensure compliance of pollution control board & factory and boilers rules and electrical standards.
• Coordinating with cross functional team like QC, QA, Microbiology and production for plant smooth operations.

Electrical Systems Maintenance

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of MCCs, VFDs, Motors, Starters, AHUs, UPS, Battery and LT panels.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment within minimum downtime.
• Maintain agitators, pumps, and rotating equipment from an electrical perspective.

Plant Electrical Infrastructure

• Inspect, maintain, and repair lighting systems, switches, earthing, and cabling.
• Ensure proper functioning of electrical safety systems including earthing, short-circuit, and overload protection.
• Support electrical readiness of upstream (fermenters, dosing, media prep) and downstream (centrifuge, filtration, drying) equipment.

3. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

• Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment.
• Maintain breakdown history and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Ensure availability of critical electrical spares.

4. Energy Monitoring & Safety

• Monitor energy usage of electrical systems and report deviations.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and electrical system optimization.
• Adhere to EHS guidelines and statutory compliance for electrical safety.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance records, logbooks, and checklists.
• Prepare reports on electrical failures, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
• Assist in audits and inspections related to electrical systems.

Team Management

• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians in Electrical system
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, IT, Utilities, Projects) to ensure operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
