About the Role:

Assistant Manager Legal

Role & responsibilities

Manage and handle
consumer litigation cases
end-to-end, including drafting, reviewing, and filing of responses, affidavits, and other legal documents.
Coordinate and liaise with external counsels and law firms to ensure effective representation in courts and consumer forums.
Review and advise on
Consumer, civil and criminal litigation matters
impacting the company, ensuring timely action and compliance with statutory timelines.
Provide legal opinions and strategic advice to internal business teams on consumer and operational issues.
Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of ongoing litigations, notices, and related communications.
Partner with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Customer Service, and Compliance to resolve disputes amicably and avoid litigation.
Conduct legal research on evolving consumer protection laws, data privacy, and related compliance areas.
Assist in contract vetting, drafting, and risk assessment for business transactions when required.
Support in the development and implementation of internal policies, SOPs, and preventive legal frameworks.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification:
LLB (Full-time) from a recognized university.
Experience:
47 years of post-qualification experience in legal roles.
Core Experience:
Minimum 2–5 years of
consumer litigation
experience is mandatory.
Experience in
B2C-facing companies
(e-commerce, FMCG, retail, or similar sectors) or
reputed law firms
handling consumer matters is preferred.
Exposure to
civil and criminal litigation
will be an added advantage.
