Job Description

As an Assistant Manager, Buying Operations at Saks Global, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Sample Management & item setup process. Your responsibilities will include driving process improvement, efficiency metrics development & implementation, achieving sales plans, conversion goals, usability performance targets, and corporate objectives. You will lead teams to ensure timely production of merchandise, accurate turn-in processes, and drive ongoing efficiency & quality improvements. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor volumes & prioritize teams workload to meet timelines effectively - Create solutions to streamline operations, improve consistency, and increase team efficiency - Develop training materials & product guides as necessary - Manage forecasting, freelancer scheduling, and budget to ensure efficient resource allocation - Proficiency with merchandising systems and technical aptitude with web-based tools - Action & detail-oriented with strong capacity management skills - Analyze quality & performance metrics to drive team efficiencies - Select & develop a team of future leaders - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve turn-in processes - Oversee item set up process focusing on accuracy & consistent customer experience - Provide thought leadership on process efficiency initiatives and drive continuous improvements - Streamline sample management workflow processes and leverage best practices - Liaise with buying offices and DC teams for inventory management - Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team - Set clear goals and performance expectations aligned with business objectives - Support employee development through regular feedback sessions and performance reviews - Promote a diverse, inclusive, and respectful work environment Qualifications Required: - Minimum 7+ years of experience in Item Setup in a multi-banner E-commerce retail environment - At least 2+ years of experience in people management - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and merchandising systems - Strong business judgment and decision-making skills - Ability to manage multiple resources, priorities, and a large volume of business - Experience in e-commerce businesses is a must Your Life and Career at Saks: At Saks, you will have exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities in a culture that promotes a healthy work/life balance.
