Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial records.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare various financial reports and analyses as required by the management.
  • Contribute to the budget preparation process and monitor budget performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control policies.
  • Identify and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Work closely with other members of the finance team and other departments.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to team goals.
  • Understand industry-specific accounting practices related to logistics operations (e.g., freight accounting, inventory management).
  • Analyze and track key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the logistics business.
  • Handle accounting related to various logistic processes such as transportation, warehousing, etc.
  • Performing other duties that are assigned by the management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of GST and other relevant tax regulations.
