Assistant Editor

• Sub-edit copy and revise headlines, standfirsts, and page furniture to the highest standard ,with immaculate written English and a sharp editorial eye.
• Edit succinctly and sensitively, maintaining tone and clarity across formats.
• Work with multimedia elements, including pictures, charts, video, and graphics- for web and app platforms; confidence with digital tools is key.
• Support the production head and deputies in curating, designing, and publishing content across platforms (including PDFs, emails, and podcasts).
• Collaborate with production colleagues to deliver articles efficiently, meeting tight deadlines in a frenetic environment. Prior experience in print is a plus.
• Apply a strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issues, including legal risk, copyright, embargoes, and journalistic privilege.
• Ensure all content adheres to editorial standards, brand guidelines, and legal requirements.

Candidate Requirement:

• 6+ years of experience with exceptional English language skills, with several years experience in a fast-paced, news-driven editorial environment; ideally at a national newspaper, magazine, or digital publisher.
