An Assistant Designer supports lead designers and creative teams in developing and executing design projects. Their responsibilities generally include assisting with research, brainstorming new ideas, creating and organizing design materials such as mood boards and presentations, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, managing design files, and helping with the production of prototypes or mockups.
They also oversee various administrative and production tasks to keep projects on track.
Key tasks often involve sketching new product ideas, uploading technical specifications, tracking development samples, sourcing materials, and ensuring quality and consistency across design projects.
Assistant Designers commonly work in areas such as fashion, graphic design, interior design, or related fields and require proficiency in design software like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), AutoCAD, or SketchUp.
