Job Description

As a Construction Manager at APM Terminals, your role involves managing and overseeing the day-to-day construction management of the project. You will be responsible for preparing, supervising construction, and ensuring proper documentation of Lessons Learned throughout the project, including Project Close-out. Your key responsibilities will include: - Planning, developing, and organizing the construction effort to come up with the most cost-effective plan for timely completion within budget. - Implementing the scope of work related to construction and commissioning of facilities in accordance with project specifications and the approved Project Schedule. - Monitoring project details, progress, risks, and opportunities and reporting to the Project Manager in a timely manner. - Documenting all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings. - Defining clear roles, responsibilities, and deliverable requirements for all team members. - Reviewing man-hours, duration forecasts, and resource requirements. - Monitoring construction productivity, schedule performance, and recommending measures for improvement. - Adhering to Company Safety Standards and promoting a safety culture. - Undertaking periodic inspection of civil engineering structures/components and initiating maintenance actions. - Preparation of estimates, rate analysis, progress reports, etc. - Supervising execution of Civil Engineering works with Quality Control and maintaining proper site records. - Guiding subordinate staff, maintaining business relations, and performing as a team member or leader as required. - Analyzing issues at the site, indicating decision areas, and providing assistance for budget preparation and progress reports. The qualifications and experience required for this role include: - Bachelors Degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution. - Minimum of 5 years experience in a role involving significant marine construction activities and port infrastructure development. - Fluent in English and proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. - Experience in the construction industry or ports sector is advantageous.
