Job Description

Role Overview: As an Assistant Accountant, your main responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, assisting in financial reporting, performing reconciliations, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with company policies, providing general administrative support, and handling correspondence with vendors and clients. Key Responsibilities: - Record Keeping and Data Entry: - Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by posting and verifying financial data. - Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions. - Financial Reporting: - Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. - Help with the preparation of internal and external reports. - Reconciliation: - Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. - Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports. - Audit Support: - Assist with internal and external audits. - Prepare audit schedules and gather necessary documentation. - Compliance and Procedures: - Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations. - Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls. - General Administration: - Provide general administrative support to the accounting department. - Handle correspondence and communication with vendors and clients. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). - Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail. - Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
