Role Overview: As a Configuration Coordinator, your main focus will be on managing and maintaining the Configuration Management System and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). You will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of the CMDB and its associated libraries, reporting directly to the Configuration Management Process Manager. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain information about Configuration Items required for delivering IT services - Create and maintain a logical model containing the components of the IT infrastructure and their associations - Accurately register all Configuration Items (CIs) - Interface with other support organizations to ensure effective use of the CMDB and Configuration Management System - Recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness and integrity of the CMDB - Generate reports and analyze the CMDB as requested by the Configuration Manager - Ensure CI Owners adhere to Configuration Management process disciplines and systems - Ensure compliance with authorized procedures and work practices - Own the SACM process end-to-end - Control, audit, and report all changes to CIs and the CMS - Define naming conventions for CIs and own the CMS - Ensure all updates to the CMS go through the Configuration Manager - Manage both software and hardware CIs, including assets and liaison with procurement team - Define asset disposal policy in collaboration with customers - Work closely with the change and release team to maintain an up-to-date CMS - Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc audits of CIs and define audit policies and processes - Handle discrepancies resulting from audits - Maintain libraries or storage areas for holding CIs - Safeguard the integrity of the CMDB and associated libraries Configuration Librarian Responsibilities: - Supervise receipt, identification, storage, and withdrawal of supported CIs - Support the functional design of the CMDB and libraries - Assist in identifying products and CIs - Provide information on CI status and record Configuration Management issues - Record authorized new or revised configurations and archive superseded configurations - Hold master copies of documents, software, etc. - Notify product or CI holders of any changes - Assist in conducting audits Qualifications Required: - Good analytic, decision-making, communication, and presentation skills - Conflict resolution abilities - Technical background with skills in IT technologies - Experience in IT hardware and software setup, management, and troubleshooting - Familiarity with Configuration Management tools and software development lifecycle - Experience in a multi-site environment - Proficiency in SCM tools and build automation software Note: The company is undergoing a transformation to become a modern Wipro, aiming to be an end-to-end digital transformation partner.
