Job Description

Work on eligibility, billing, and claims modules, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines.
Write and optimize DB2/400 SQL queries and CL programs for batch and interactive processing.
Analyze complex business and technical requirements, and convert them into efficient program designs.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including performance tuning and defect fixes.
Lead code reviews and ensure code is optimized and aligns with iSeries best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration with external systems (EDI, C:D, MQ).
Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must-Have Skills: 8+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL programming on the IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) platform. Strong expertise in DB2/400, SQL, CL, and batch processing. Strong understanding of EDI transactions (e.g., 270/271, 837/835) and payer processing workflows. Experience in system integration with external partners. Experience with healthcare applications especially in eligibility, billing, claims, or pricing systems. Familiarity with RPGLE or RPG/400. Experience using Aldon, or other change management tools. Experience using ROBOT. Understanding of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data standards. Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments. Good-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with software development best practices including version control (Git), code reviews, and CI/CD
