The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities. As the Applications Development Senior Manager, your primary responsibilities will include managing one or more Applications Development teams to accomplish established goals. You will also be responsible for conducting personnel duties for the team, such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions. Utilize your in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications. Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects, contribute to the formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas, and develop a comprehensive understanding of how different areas of the business integrate to achieve business goals. You will be expected to provide evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations. Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring the delivery of end results, participate in budget management, handle day-to-day staff management issues, ensure essential procedures are followed, and contribute to defining standards. Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrate consideration for the firm's reputation, and safeguard Citigroup, its clients, and assets. Supervise the activity of others, create accountability, and maintain compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. To qualify for this role, you should have 6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry, experience as an Applications Development Manager, stakeholder and people management experience, demonstrated leadership skills, proven project management skills, and basic knowledge of industry practices and standards. Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, with a Master's degree preferred. In addition to the above responsibilities, you should possess the required leadership qualities to guide the team in delivering highly performant and scalable solutions, own and drive the end-to-end delivery of the project, work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment and expectations, collaborate with architects and developers to drive the design and solutioning of the application. Proficiency in technologies like Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, Kafka, MQ, Openshift, and Databases (MongoDB / Oracle) is essential. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployment, and standard engineering practices is also required. Explore and bring in new technologies within the project, be well-versed with the Scaled Agile framework, track progress, highlight risks, and ensure the team remains unblocked.
