Applied AI Engineer

You will be joining GEMGEM, a leading C2C marketplace specializing in luxury jewelry, as an Applied AI Engineer. GEMGEM is at the forefront of using artificial intelligence to revolutionize how fine jewelry is bought and sold, with a strong focus on technology and transparency. As an AI-first company, GEMGEM is dedicated to solving real-world challenges in areas such as pricing, authentication, risk prevention, and buyer-seller matching. Your primary responsibility in this role will be to develop and deploy AI/ML models that enhance user experience, automate internal processes, and drive platform growth. Working closely with product, backend, and frontend teams, you will be instrumental in implementing AI-driven solutions that cover areas such as jewelry image classification, price recommendation, similarity search, fraud risk scoring, and more. To excel in this position, you should have a Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in applied machine learning or computer vision. Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is essential, as is a solid understanding of model development, evaluation metrics, and deployment best practices. Experience in deploying models in production systems and knowledge of API integration and data engineering concepts are also key requirements. While not mandatory, experience in e-commerce, C2C platforms, or image-heavy applications would be advantageous. Familiarity with tools like LangChain, OpenAI APIs, and Hugging Face Transformers, as well as exposure to blockchain, smart contracts, or luxury product authentication, are considered preferred qualifications. Additionally, working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and Docker would be beneficial.
