Summary of the profile:

API Test Engineer

What you'll do here:

Design, develop, and execute
API test cases
for RESTful web services.
Perform
manual and automated API testing
using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
Develop and maintain
automated test scripts
and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
Validate
request/response payloads
, status codes, headers, authentication mechanisms, and business logic.
Identify, document, and track
bugs or issues
related to APIs, and work closely with developers to resolve them.
Analyze test results, generate test reports, and provide quality feedback to the development team.
Create and maintain
test data and environment
for effective API testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to ensure high-quality releases.
Participate in
code reviews
,
design discussions
, and contribute to best practices in API testing.

What you will need to thrive:

4-8 years
of experience in software testing with a focus on
API testing
.
Proficiency in
Postman
for manual API testing and scripting using
Pre-request Scripts
and
Tests (JavaScript)
.
Strong hands-on experience in
Rest Assured
for automated API testing using
Java
Experience with
JSON, XML
, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and API authentication (OAuth, Basic Auth, etc.).
Knowledge of
test automation frameworks
, scripting, and integration with tools like
JUnit/TestNG
,
Maven/Gradle
, and
CI/CD pipelines
(Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
